The Heard Museum Guild
Welcome to the Heard Museum Guild! Founded more than 50 years ago, this organization of over 600 members is dedicated to providing a cadre of volunteers to suport the Museum's exhibits, programs and activities:
An Opportuniy for Active Involvement
The Guild’s volunteers engage in a wide variety of endeavors. Each year, the Guild conducts the Annual Indian Fair & Market, the Book Fair & Treasure Market, and the American Indian Student Art Show & Sale. Within the Guild are the members of Las Guias (volunteers trained as docents) who guide museum tours and, as members of the Speakers Bureau, offer lectures to schools, community groups and service organizations. In addition, Guild members can be found at the Information Desk, the Museum Shops, hospitality booths, committee meetings or wherever volunteers are needed.
A Place for Fellowship
The Guild is a gathering of diverse people with similar interests. As such, Guild members tend to bond together in a fraternal relationship. In the process of volunteering their services, experiences are shared, social gatherings and educational excursions are enjoyed, and friendships are formed.
