About The Guild

Best of Show

Best of Show night is an annual tradition that is held the Friday evening before the opening of the Heard Guild Indian Fair & Market  on Saturday and Sunday.  It is always a gala event that begins at 5:30 PM on the historic campus of the Heard Museum.  The events of the evening includes a stupendous silent auction containing a wide variety of art and jewelry donated by some of the most famous and well known Indian artists.  Mix this together with a delicious catered buffet dinner while seated in the midst of the beautiful Heard Museum campus, listening to the soft jazz of the Larry Redhouse Trio.

It is also exciting to be able to see the hundreds of award winning artworks beautifully presented in the eight different categories and even to visit with some of the award winners in person.  These prestigious awards mean a great deal to the artists and it is our pleasure and privilege to be able to view them as well.

The last 15 minutes of this exciting evening will be a first time treat.  The Seneca Smoke Dancers from New York will be our honored guests and will perform a ‘heart stopping’ display of dance for us.
When we leave the Heard on Friday evening March 6, we will all be anxiously anticipating the opening  moments of 2009 Indian Fair & Market and all of the sights and sounds that it brings!

Look for information on how to be a part of this exciting evening where art meets entertainment.   Deadline for purchasing tickets is February 16, 2009.  Be sure not to miss it!!
