Student Art Show & Sale 2018

The 32nd Annual Heard Museum Guild American Indian Student Art Show & Sale was a success in many ways.  We had more students and teachers participate than in 2017.  More student artwork was sold this year.  The student payout for sales and awards totaled almost $18,000.

Numbers are important when evaluating a program, but they do not reflect everything.  We cannot measure the magic in the air at the Member’s Opening on Friday night nor the pride on the faces of student artists, their parents and families.  It is impossible to calculate the excitement of visitors who purchased a piece of student art or all the time given and support from the Heard Museum staff.  And finally, how can we possible reflect the countless hours our volunteers spent planning, preparing and executing this remarkable show.

A special thank you to this year’s Student Art Show & Sale co-chairs Lillian Vancel and Pam Roland. They are amazing human beings-kind and caring-strong and giving!

Lillian and Pam would like to thank the over 80 volunteers that shared their time to support emerging American Indian artists and make the 2018 Student Art Show & Sale a success.  They wish they could name you all, but you know who you are.  Please come back next year!

Here are some photos taken at the Friday night Member’s Opening.  More to come. Enjoy!
